Wow… morning runs never looked so good! Beats the scenery at LA Fitness in Glendale on a treadmill staring at the back of an elliptical machine! So, a little less than 2 miles from my house is the famous St. Charles bridge – great run at sunrise. During the day, this bridge is PACKED with everything from photo-crazed tourists, mean Czechs, street performers, vendors, homeless, etc! At 6:00am, there is NO one – it is fabulous! (see pictures below).


Here’s a little history of the bridge for those history buffs! The St. Charles bridge was started in 1357 and completed early in the 15th century as the main (only) bridge to cross the Vltava river in Prague. It actually served to connect Old Town Prague with the Prague Castle. At 516 meters long, and 10 meters wide, the bridge is adorned with over 30 baroque-style statues and is often considered to be one of the best civil gothic-style buildings in the world.
