Bienvenidos a Miami...

Ok, I have GOT to give credit to the Portland International Airport (PDX). This airport is wonderful. So efficient and so clean! I love this airport.
So, my whirlwind trip to Miami began with a much-to-early 5:00a.m. wake up call, some last minute packing and a quick drive to the lovely PDX airport. Before I knew it, I was off to Philly for my connecting flight. So, I should have known, you can't fly to Philadelphia without running into some sort of issues, and this time was no different. Due to inclement weather, flights were delayed and cancelled, so you had scores of angry travels running around frantically trying to change their itineraries... and the always rude, never helpful staff of the Philly airport not really providing any helpful direction. I, thank god, was one of the lucky ones, and escaped Philly WITH my luggage and only a 3-hr delay.

I finally arrived in Miami around midnight! I seem to always find the scary cab drivers no matter what city around the world I happen to be in... this one didn't speak English OR Spanish, AND he was watching a DVD of a cowboy/western movie the entire ride to the hotel.

Speaking of hotel.. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Biltmore Coral Gables is phenomenal. (Photo (c) Biltmore.)

My time in Miami was very short, but very intense, and very exciting. It was so good to see old friends again, while learning of possible exciting things on the horizon. I really like the city. It is a charming, vibrant place infused with a lot of Latin flair! (Photo (c) Miami city)
